The Faculty of Science and Technology encompasses teaching and research in environmental science, medical science and biomedical science together with data science, artificial intelligence, Internet of Things (IoT), machine learning, robotics, cloud computing and cybersecurity. We provide the perfect balance between practice and theory, whether it is combating cyber-crime or improving people’s health and wellbeing, building robots or sampling ecosystems, students will begin to shape the world around us through the innovative skills and knowledge they learn.

Our globally focused research strengths are nurtured in cross disciplinary research hubs including the Institute for Applied Ecology, which consists of two centres; the Centre for Conservation Ecology and Genomics and the Centre for Applied Water Science, a biomedical research hub and the human-centred technology hub.
