How to accept your offer - international

Congratulations on receiving an offer to study at the University of Canberra. We can’t wait to welcome you to our world-class campus.

Accepting your offer is easy, though there may be a few things you need to organise first. The type of offer you’ve received â€“ whether it’s unconditional, conditional or provisional â€“ will determine what you need to do.

Follow the steps for the relevant offer type below to accept your offer and secure your place in your course.

Your letter of offer contains details specific to you and your situation, while the information below covers the steps you need to take to accept your type of offer.

Unconditional offer

Unconditional - international

Main

If you’ve received an unconditional offer, you can accept straight away through our .

If you’ve applied through one of our registered agents, your agent can accept on your behalf using our .

Once you’ve accepted, you’ll have to pay the acceptance fee outlined in your offer letter. We’ll email you details of when and how to pay.

Conditional offer

Conditional - international

Main

If you’ve received a conditional offer, you need to satisfy the conditions outlined in your offer letter before you can accept.

You can upload any required documents via our , or ask your agent to upload them on your behalf through our .

Once you’ve uploaded the required documents and satisfied the conditions of your offer, we’ll email you confirming that you can now accept your offer and pay your acceptance fee.

You can accept via our application portal, or have your agent do so on your behalf using our agent portal.

Provisional offer

Provisional - international

Main

If you’ve received a provisional offer, you need to complete a Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) assessment before you can accept. You’ll be sent a GTE assessment to complete separately at the same time you receive your offer letter.

You may also need to provide additional documents to satisfy any conditions outlined in your offer letter. You can upload these documents through our or ask your agent to upload them on your behalf through our .

Once you’ve completed your GTE assessment and met the conditions of your offer, we’ll email you confirming that you can now accept your offer and pay your acceptance fee.

You can accept via our application portal, or have your agent do so for you using our agent portal.

If have any questions or concerns about the outcome of your application, you can contact our Admissions Office for help.

If you’re unable to resolve your concerns, you can apply for a formal review of your application in accordance with the University of Canberra Admissions Rules.

An application for review must be made in writing to director.sc@canberra.edu.au within 60 days of receiving your admissions outcome and needs to provide evidence of how the decision:

  • did not take all relevant material submitted into account
  • took irrelevant material into account
  • demonstrated bias that disadvantaged you in the decision.

Deferring your offer

Deferring your offer

If you’ve received your offer but would like to start studying at a later date, you may be able to defer for up to one year.

Most coursework offers can be deferred, though there are some situations where deferring may not be available. For example, admission to some courses is limited to certain teaching periods.

If you’ve received an offer for a Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP) in a postgraduate course, you can’t defer so you'll need to start on the date indicated in your offer or reapply for admission at a later date.

You can request a deferral through our . Log in, select ‘Respond to offer’ and then select ‘Defer.’

If your deferral is approved, you’ll receive a new offer letter with a revised start date. Your admission to ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø will be finalised once you accept.
