It’s the beginning of 2025 in Canberra - the sun is hot and the mood is high! Before you dive back into your studies, hit up some events or try out new activities. We’ve done the vibe check - here are our top suggestions for catching that summer feeling at ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø and its surroundings.

Looking for a way to spend a relaxed summer evening? Head to Canberra’s . Set amongst the towering trees of the Australian National Botanic Gardens, you’ll hear the buzzing of nature and the Oscars.
There’s popcorn, ice cream and food trucks onsite or bring your own picnic to keep things budget-friendly. You can also hire bean bags and deck chairs when you book tickets, though we think your comfiest blanket will do just fine!

The ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Life Team is hosting a spectacular Summer BBQ for all ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Students in January. Head over to the concourse lawns for delicious food, games and music. Don’t forget a hat and some sunscreen for this free summer event!
This is a great chance to grab some grub and get mingling - you never know, you might meet some pals who are interested in other events on this list!

Celebrated Australian rapper Allday returns with his long-awaited fifth record to ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø for O-Week.
Melbourne’s metalcore band is heading out on its farewell tour with special guests Gideon, UnityTX, and Knosis.
Sparks will fly at AIS Arena as the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Capitals take on foes, old and new, in the 24/25 WNBL season.

Head out onto the high seas, or rather, the calm waters of Lake Burley Griffin in your very own . Get a crew together, pack a picnic and set sail for a few hours to see Canberra’s iconic landmarks.
The boats are electric and don’t require a license to operate. While they are shaded, we highly recommend bringing a hat, sunscreen, and wearing appropriate clothing to avoid that summer sting.
