Learning outcomes
The outcome of a research unit for individual students is contingent upon what each student brings to the work and the amount of energy and effort they deploy. However, a student who engages in the research work and training in this unit with diligence can expect to be able to :1. Discriminate between literature that is pertinent to your research and literature that is less relevant;
2. Show a clear understanding of prior research in the area, to identify gaps in the literature and to frame research questions based on/informed by the literature;
3. Identify relevant core literature, including areas of general agreement and controversy; and
4. Demonstrate an understanding of the relevant published literature relevant to their proposed research topic.

Prerequisites
10386 Research Fundamentals PG, 10387 Reading and Critiquing Literature PG, 10388 Research Design PG AND 10389 Current Research Issues in Business PG.Candidates must also satisfy the requirements of the Higher Degree by Research Progress and Milestones Policy, especially with respect to confirmation of candidature - please see sections 3.21 - 3.28 of the policy.
