In this unit students will further develop their abilities as agile professionals with transferable employability skills and critical and creative abilities to work across industries and sectors and craft diverse employment paths. By undertaking an internship in the workplace they will integrate disciplinary knowledge with the professional skills required in their industry and develop their sense of professional identity and purpose.

Due to the variety of industries this unit caters for, students may be required to organise their own internship opportunities with support from the Faculty of Arts and Design Work Integrated Learning Team and unit staff.

Learning outcomes

On successful completion of this unit, students will be able to:
1. Reflect on and evaluate the standards of performance and practice expected in the workplace and the profession, and how professional skills and knowledge align with these expectations;
2. Analyse the role and application of theoretical ideas and knowledge in professional contexts;
3. Solve problems and make appropriate and ethical decisions in the workplace using information, professional and disciplinary knowledge and consideration of different perspectives; and
4. Acquire, articulate and apply a range of transferable employability skills.
