Submission of assessment items
Extensions & Late submissions
The assessment items reflect a logical progression commencing with the initial project proposal, a work-in-progress update report, through to the completion of the final seminar and written final report. Each project is different, for example, some projects may be industry-based and some may be research-based. The student and supervisor work closely together. This unit is a final year unit that deploys knowledge and skills that students have developed in earlier units. Students should keep a copy of all assessment items that are submitted.
There is no final examination in this unit.
Special assessment requirements
In order to gain a pass grade in this unit, the student must:
- Meet regularly with your supervisor, and
- Submit every item of assessment, and
- Attend the required presentations, and
- Attain a total of at least 50% overall.
The Unit Convenor and/or supervisors reserve the right to question students orally on any of their assessment submissions.
Referencing Requirements
All work quoted from other written sources should be appropriately referenced using the “author-date” (Harvard) style. This style is described in detail (including electronic sources) in the Citation Guide available at

In-unit costs
No additional costs will be incurred by students undertaking this unit apart from the normal costs of being a university student.
Work placement, internships or practicums
This is a WIL-type unit with projects that may be industry or research-based linking practice and theory.
